A superb afternoon and evening of racing lies ahead at Dundalk on Saturday, with horse racing from 13:15 and greyhound racing from 20:00 on what is the annual Dual Race Day at the Stadium.

Dundalk Preview
13:15 – INSTITUTE, who is a daughter of Frankel and the 2015 Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes winner, Acapulco, and OSTERADE, who showed plenty of promise on her Cork debut, stand out here.
13:50 – Making it onto the short list are CRAYONS IN THE SKY, HIP HOP CHRYSSY, who will race in a first-time tongue-tie, TOSCA NO CANDIS and STARLIT.
14:25 – A superb line-up for the BAR 1 Betting “Download Our App” Mourne Handicap. The likes of ALLSORTZ, CUBAN GREY, COLLECTIVE POWER, DARK ACE, KERDOS, BLACK FORZA and VALIANT FORCE can all be given chances. The winning stall numbers in the last ten years are 3-6-1-1-3-5-5-14-9-6. Only one winner in the last ten years carried less than 9st to victory.
15:00 – Making the short list for the apprentice maiden are TREK HOME, EMIZA, LITTLE SURE SHOT and PUNICA GRANATUM, with TREK HOME getting the nod.
15:30 – Aidan O’Brien runs three in the race but ILE DE FRANCE, who showed plenty of promise on his Naas debut, is the mount of Wayne Lordan. That’ll do for us. He’s by Gun Runner and his dam, Campanelle, won the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. Aidan has won this race for the last four years. Wayne Lordan has ridden the winner in three of the last four years.
16:00 – With six last-time out winners in the race, this has the look of a competitive affair. Check the betting for clues.
16:35 – The feature race, the €50,000 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Red God Handicap, looks a good race. Last year’s winner TRIBAL STAR is back, as is his stable-companion, STAR HARBOUR, who was third last year and second the year before. CRYPTO FORCE has been gelded since his last run and will race in first-time cheek-pieces, FOLLOW ME will race in a first-time visor, and CALA BONITA arrives on the back of a Galway Festival win. However, we have a soft spot for SLIEVE BINNIAN, who has won four times from six runs at Dundalk and finished third in this race in 2024 from a higher mark.
17:10 – Forming the short list are DANCING STEVE, RISING SKY, STORM ERIC and COPPER CRAFT. Money for DANCING STEVE would be interesting. If not then RISING SKY would get the nod, particularly with BAR 1 Betting paying four places on the race. Trainer Anthony McCann has won this race twice in the last six years.
