AS Roma v Real Madrid, Wed, 20:00
José Mourinho will receive a hero’s welcome as he returns to the Stadio Olimpico as Real Madrid manager. Having delivered a first-ever European trophy when winning the Conference League as Roma boss, the Special One will be hoping to see his side build on their MD1 win against another of his old sides, Inter Milan.
Roma’s 1-1 draw away to Fenerbahçe on matchday one extended their winless run in European competition to four games, and now they face a true European superpower.
Kylian Mbappe has already scored eight times in just ten appearances for Los Blancos this season and will be seeking to mark his 100th UCL appearance by adding to his haul of 71 goals in the competition.
ANYTIME GOALSCORER: Kylian Mbappe (3/5)
Real Betis v FC Porto, Wed, 20:00
Every Irish person’s favourite Spanish team is in action on Wednesday as Troy Parrott’s Real Betis hosts FC Porto in Seville. Despite scoring one of the best ever Irish goals against Austria during the international break, Parrott found himself on the bench for his club’s La Liga win at the weekend.
However, the local media had suggested this would be the case, as Parrott’s main rival for the number nine jersey, Cucho Hernández, was not away on international duty, so he may have been viewed as a fresher pair of legs by Manuel Pellegrini.
Hernández wasn’t on the scoresheet in the 5-2 win at home to Osasuna on Saturday, so he may now make way for our boy Troy.
Parrott scored the winner against Real Madrid and his first-ever Champions League goal before the break, and having netted twice for Ireland in the recent international window, he may pick up his hot streak at home to Porto.
ANYTIME GOALSCORER: Troy Parrott (11/8)

Bodo/Glimt v Dortmund, Wed, 20:00
Serhou Guirassy has contributed to six goals in his last seven Champions League appearances, and the man from Guinea will be aiming to continue his hot form when Dortmund travel to Norway on Wednesday.
Guirassy scored twice in Dortmund’s MD1 victory against Villarreal, and the striker now faces a Bodo/Glimt side that shipped five in their competition opener against Dortmund’s domestic rivals Bayern.
ANYTIME GOALSCORER: Serhou Guirassy (4/5)
Man City v PSG, Wed, 20:00
The game of the round sees the winners from three of the last four Champions League campaigns go head-to-head in Manchester. City put off-field distractions behind them to maintain their 100% start to the season against Liverpool on Sunday, while PSG are bidding to win this competition for the third season in a row.
Erling Haaland made it six goals in six Premier League appearances by opening the scoring at Anfield, and the big Norwegian centre-forward netted twice in City’s UCL opener away to Porto. Haaland has also registered three goals in as many games against PSG, and with City firing on all cylinders under new boss Enzo Maresca, it may even be beyond the European champions shutting out City’s number nine here.
ANYTIME GOALSCORER: Erling Haaland (5/6)
