The Memorial Tournament 2026 Top Picks

Scottie Scheffler

His record in his last four visits to Murifield is exemplary with two victories and two third place finishes. He deserves his place at the head of the market and if the putter gets hot then he could win here for a third year in a row. His form since the Masters at Augusta hasn’t dropped at all and he is probably slightly unlucky not to have picked up another victory in the meantime.

His 2nd at Augusta was followed by consecutive runner up positions at RBC Heritage and Cadillac Championship. A slight dip in the PGA Championship but returned to form last week at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson where he finished third on -25. His final two rounds of 65 may have disappointed him a little as he tried to put himself into contention but it could all come together this week. (3/1)

Patrick Cantlay

The previous winner section above shows that Patrick has won here twice before and three top ten finishes in his last five events suggests that he is slowly but surely coming back to form. He finished T12 here last year on level par when he was consistent without ever putting himself into contention. Rounds of 72,73,69 and a 74 on the final day were never going to be enough.

His victory here in 2021 shows that he knows what it takes around Muirfield and he shot 69,67,68 and 71 to see off Collin Morikawa after a playoff. (25/1)
