LIVERPOOL VS ARSENAL: PREVIEW, TEAM NEWS, LINEUPS & BETTING TIPS

Sunday’s only Premier League fixture is worth waiting for as Liverpool and Arsenal clash at Anfield.

Head-to-Heads

The reigning Premier League champions will be looking to win at Anfield for the first time since 2012. That’s 16 games (all comps) since the Gunners won at Liverpool, although eight of them have been drawn, including three of the last four, all of them in the league.

Form

Liverpool have won their last five games this season and their last two in the league, including beating an impressive Brighton side 2-0 at Anfield last weekend, the only game of the five in which they kept a clean sheet.

They have kept just four clean sheets in 13 games (all comps) this season but have lost just once (v Man City, 0-3 on October 11th). In eight of the games both teams have scored, although that drops to three in eight in the league.

Unlike Liverpool, Arsenal crashed out of the League Cup during the week, losing on penalties to League Two side Fleetwood Town. Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties. Both sides made many changes for those games to their strongest XIs.

However, the Gunners have won eleven of their 14 games this season (all comps), keeping eight clean sheets in the process. They have won seven of their eight league matches, their sole loss coming 3-0 at Brighton on September 19th, the only league match in which they have failed to score. That is also the only game, in four, where they have conceded away from home in the league this season.

Team News

Victor Muñoz and Dominik Szoboszlai are back in contention for a place following injuries. Definitely out are Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni.

Arsenal will be leaving it late before deciding on Noni Madueke’s involvement, but definitely out is Bukayo Saka and the suspended Max Dowman. More positively, Riccardo Calafiore, Christos Tzolis and Declan Rice, about whom a slight doubt had arisen, are all reported to be okay.

Predicted Lineups

Liverpool XI (Predicted): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Barcola, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak

Arsenal XI (Predicted): Raya; White, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Guimaraes; Madueke, Odegaard, Eze; Gyokeres

Goalscorers

Liverpool

Alexander Isak is finding his groove and now has six goals in eight starts this season. Before his injury, Dominik Szoboszlai had chipped in with three in eight appearances. Alexis Mac Allister has scored four goals in seven starts this season for the Reds.

Eight players have contributed to Arsenal’s 13  league goals this season, with the only players to score more than one being Bukayo Saka (3), Kai Havertz (2), Martin Ødegaard (2) and Bruno Guimarães (2).
