16:20 1m Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden (3yo+)
KARRYGRANT is becoming frustrating to win with, but his experience gives him an edge and he just about sets the standard on form with a rating of 79. He should appreciate the slight drop in distance, while the tight nature of this track may help him see out the shorter trip. His finishing effort remains a concern, but his consistency and proven form make him the one to beat.

16:55 1m Ploughman Bar & Grill Handicap (Div I) (4yo+ 0-60)
A Leopardstown winner two starts ago, Launch Time was left with too much to do from the back at Cork last time but finished well to get within four lengths of the eventual winner. Colin Keane keeps faith in the Cian Hughes-trained four-year-old and is likely to go close.
SUERTE was nearest at the finish over 7f behind Keane’s mount at Leopardstown when last seen and is 4lb better off with his old rival this time around. It could very well be thirteenth time lucky for Shelia Lavery’s charge.

17:30 1m Ploughman Bar & Grill Handicap (Div II) (4yo+ 0-60)
Should Colin Keane come up just short in the 16:55, he may well gain compensation in the second division of this mile handicap with GIVEHERTILXMAS. The filly remains a maiden after 11 starts and was just denied last time. If building on that recent revival behind La La Lucrative, who has since gone close at Galway in a boost to the form, she’s a big player. The first-time cheekpieces could bring further improvement, while the return of Colin Keane to the saddle is another positive. She is feared to go close.

ZARAAHMANDO has been knocking on the door with a string of consistent efforts and could be ready to strike in this company. He has been running well in stronger contests recently and was only caught late at Galway last time after racing freely, beaten two lengths off this mark. The drop in trip should suit, and if he can overcome his wide draw and get across early, his consistency and proven effectiveness over this distance make him tough to beat.

BIT OF A BUZZ has been a model of consistency, never finishing outside the top four, and sets the standard on form in what looks a modest maiden. He may have hit the front too soon after making a big mid-race move when runner-up, beaten 2¼ lengths, in a nursery at Down Royal last time. A repeat of that effort could be enough to see him go close, and with the in-form Gavin Cromwell team behind him, he looks the obvious danger.

NAMIID has been a consistent performer this season and arrives in terrific form for Johnny Murtagh. The top weight ran a solid race when third at the Curragh last time, travelling well throughout, and he remains unexposed away from maiden company. A further step forward could see the son of Acclamation prove too strong in this competitive handicap.

HEMIYKA has backed up her surprising third in a maiden at the Galway Festival with another creditable effort when fourth at Sligo. She acts on softer ground and her breeding suggests this step up in trip could suit. With Colin Keane booked to ride for the first time, she has claims if building on her last two runs.

20:02 2m1½f Gibney’s Of Malahide (Q.R.) Handicap (4yo+)
Boxing Great followed up a solid effort in the Northumberland consolation race at Newcastle by getting up on the line to win at Leopardstown last time. Raised just 1lb having overcome trouble to win that race, he’s a big player in the lucky last.
