Champions League Final
Saturday, May 30 – 5pm
Ferenc Puskás Aréna, Budapest, Hungary
Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal meet in Budapest for the 2026 UEFA Champions League final, with PSG aiming to defend their European crown and Arsenal chasing a first-ever title in the competition.
The newly-crowned Premier League champions will arrive full of confidence, while PSG’s electric attacking line-up makes them deserved favourites for what promises to be a fascinating showdown.

PSG vs Arsenal: Key Champions League Final Stats
Recent Champions League finals have often been tight, cagey affairs.
In each of the last seven Champions League finals, one side has failed to score. However, in the eight finals before that, both teams scored, with six of those eight producing over 2.5 goals.
PSG lifted their first Champions League title last season and are now chasing back-to-back successes. The last teams to achieve consecutive Champions League (or European Cup) triumphs were Real Madrid (2016-17 and 2017-18) and AC Milan (1988-89 and 1989-90).
Arsenal are still searching for their first European Cup/Champions League title. Their only previous final appearance came in 2006, when they lost 2-1 to Barcelona.
Other notable trends:
- Eleven of the last 24 finals have produced over 2.5 goals
- Twelve of the last 24 saw one side fail to score
- In just three of the last 20 finals has the team scoring first gone on to lose
- Only two of the last 20 finals have gone to penalties
- Four of the last 20 have gone to extra time
Across the last 20 finals, 51 goals have been scored in normal time, with 36 arriving in the second half and 13 coming in the 81st minute or later.

Ferenc Puskás Aréna: Champions League Final Venue
This year’s final takes place at the Ferenc Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary.
The stadium is named after one of football’s greatest-ever players. Ferenc Puskás won three European Cups with Real Madrid and famously scored four goals in Madrid’s 7-3 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the 1960 final.
Irish football fans will remember the venue for Troy Parrott’s incredible hat-trick against Hungary in November.
PSG vs Arsenal Team News
Paris Saint-Germain Team News
Achraf Hakimi is a doubt to start due to a thigh injury, according to reports on May 26.
Nuno Mendes and Willian Pacho are available, while Ousmane Dembélé is expected to be fit despite hobbling off during PSG’s final league game against Paris FC on May 17.
Arsenal Team News
Jurrien Timber remains a doubt. Reports on May 19 suggested he would miss the final, although later updates indicated he could yet feature.
After a two-month absence with a groin injury, it appears unlikely Arsenal will risk him from the start against Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Ben White is ruled out after suffering a season-ending knee injury against West Ham on May 10.
Mikel Merino returned in time for Arsenal’s final league game against Crystal Palace, while Noni Madueke came off late in that match with an apparent hamstring problem.

Arsenal Form Guide
Arsenal sealed the Premier League title after Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on May 19.
They have won seven of their final eleven matches of the season, losing just twice and keeping six clean sheets.
Goals have not flowed freely, however.
Across those eleven matches, Arsenal scored more than once in a game on just two occasions, netting 13 times in total.
Viktor Gyökeres has scored four of those goals in seven starts, while Kai Havertz has added three in four starts.
Havertz also brings a proven Champions League final pedigree, having scored the winner for Chelsea against Manchester City in the 2021 final.
Arsenal remain unbeaten in this season’s Champions League campaign, winning 11 of their 14 matches and keeping nine clean sheets.
PSG Form Guide
PSG secured yet another Ligue 1 title, their twelfth in the last 14 seasons.
Across all competitions, they have lost only three of their last 20 matches, although they fielded a weakened side in their recent defeat to Paris FC.
In the previous 19 matches, they kept 10 clean sheets and scored 47 goals.
Luis Enrique’s side will have a 13-day gap between their final league fixture and the Champions League final, with an in-house friendly arranged to maintain sharpness.
They have won six of their last eight Champions League matches, scoring 23 goals.
Key Players to Watch
PSG’s Front Three
PSG’s attack is packed with quality.
Désiré Doué, who scored twice in last year’s final, joins Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in one of Europe’s most dangerous forward lines.
Champions League numbers this season:
- Kvaratskhelia: 10 goals, 7 assists
- Dembélé: 7 goals, 2 assists
- Doué: 5 goals, 4 assists
Their movement, pace, and technical quality presents Arsenal with major problems.
Arsenal’s Threat
Bukayo Saka’s return has been a major boost for Arsenal.
His ability to isolate defenders and create chances could prove decisive, and nullifying his threat will be one of PSG’s key tactical priorities.
Arsenal’s set-piece strength is another weapon, having scored a Premier League-best 17 goals from dead-ball situations this season.
PSG vs Arsenal Prediction
PSG are worthy favourites and are taken to edge a tight contest.
Their attacking fluidity and pace may prove too much over 90 minutes, even against an Arsenal side that has defended superbly throughout the campaign.
Arsenal’s Premier League title triumph will ensure confidence is high, and there are compelling battles all over the pitch.
Still, recent final trends point towards another low-scoring affair.
Verdict: PSG (5/4)
Predicted score: PSG 1-0 Arsenal (11/2)
Instinct suggests a 2-1 result, but the statistics favour a narrower scoreline.
Six of the last seven Champions League finals have finished either 1-0 or 2-0.
Anytime Goalscorer Tip
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia @ 9/4 anytime.
The Georgian has been in outstanding Champions League form and looks the standout goalscorer selection for the final.
