Preview: 2025 Bar One Racing Irish Laurels Final at Curraheen Park
The countdown is on for the 2025 Bar One Racing Irish Laurels Final, which takes place this Saturday night at Curraheen Park. A top-class six-dog line-up will go to traps in what promises to be one of the standout greyhound racing events of the year.
Among the finalists, Solo And Go has attracted huge attention throughout the competition. Owned by Kerry’s All-Ireland winning Clifford brothers, the talented performer looks ideally housed in trap one for Saturday’s €30,000-to-the-winner decider.
Lining up beside him in trap two is kennelmate Ballymac Setanta, who remains unbeaten in this year’s Laurels and even matched the Curraheen Park track record on his way to the final. Their trainer, Liam Dowling, enjoys a remarkable hand with three runners in the race—Solo And Go (1), Ballymac Setanta (2), and Ballymac Brandan (3), a brother to Setanta.
With early pace sure to be crucial, the battle to the first bend could be electric. That could open the door for runners on the outside, with Magical On Fire (trap 4) aiming to become the second consecutive bitch to win the Laurels. Trionas Tribe (5) and Lemon Joey (6) complete a superb final field.
Ahead of Saturday’s decider, Bar One Racing’s Kieran Burke joined Ian Fortune and Tommy Lyons on the latest episode of Talking Dogs to preview what promises to be a thrilling race.
