12:00 2m4f (2m4f40y) Mongey Communications Novice Handicap Chase (4yo+)

MOYLUSSA ran a cracker to finish second, 3l behind Claude in a Rated Novice Chase at Cork last time out, under a positive ride. The pair pulled clear of the third. Likely to go forward again, Moylussa should give another good account under jockey Daniel King.

Selection: Moylussa

12:30 2m Cavan Developments Supporting St Marys GAA Maiden Hurdle (4yo+)

All eyes will be on the Cheltenham Festival bumper winner, THE MOURNE RAMBLER, on his hurdling bow, and I fully expect, with a clear round, he will get off the mark. He finished second in a point-to-point at Portrush before joining the Noel Meade stable, and that experience should stand to him here. The Mourne Rambler is an exciting recruit to the hurdling ranks, and he should have too much class for the opposition here.

Selection: The Mourne Rambler

13:00 2m Overlander Fishery Lane Novice Hurdle (4yo)

LOVE ME TENDER created a very favourable impression when running out an easy winner of a maiden hurdle at Listowel on hurdling debut in September. A stiffer test awaits here, but I think he should pass this assignment on his way to bigger things later on in the season.

Selection: Love Me Tender

13:30 2m3f (2m2f200y) Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Hurdle (4yo+)

A number of interesting runners here, representing top connections, but MINELLA MACHINE gets the vote, carrying the colours of owner Robcour. The selection fetched €350,000 at the Punchestown Sale in May 2025, after winning at point-to-point when trained by John Nallen. He finished 8l behind The Mourne Rambler at Leopardstown last December on his first start for trainer Henry De Bromhead, and stayed on well to win a bumper at Wexford when last seen in March. Minella Machine could well take the beating if fully primed on his first start for the season, in the hands of jockey Darragh O’Keeffe.

Selection: Minella Machine

14:04 2m4f Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle (Listed Race) (4yo+)

ELUSIVE OGIE showed a good attitude when winning over 2m 4f at Bellewstown earlier in the summer. He disappointed on his next start at Listowel, but returned to form last time out when finishing second behind Harpy Eagle at Punchestown last time out.

Elusive Ogie travelled strongly under a motionless Jack Kennedy, as he led them into the straight at Punchestown last time out. I think he can reverse that form with Harpy Eagle, and take the beating here.

Selection: Elusive Ogie

14:39 2m Barberstown Castle Chase (Grade 3) (4yo+)

KOPEK DES BORDES looked to have the race at his mercy when falling at the second-last fence at Punchestown last time out. With a clear round, last season’s Arkle second can get his season off to a winning start for trainer Willie Mullins and jockey Paul Townend.

Selection: Kopek Des Bordes

15:13 2m Into Kildare Beginners Chase (4yo+)

BARLEY LANE is a horse I’ve been looking forward to following this season. I thought he showed promise in each of his runs last season before making all to win a Maiden Hurdle at Down Royal back in March.

He’s only had three starts over hurdles, along with one run in a bumper, but I thought at Down Royal Barley Lane still looked a work in progress. He’s a fine big horse, and while he might not be an attractive betting proposition against some of these rivals, connections are not shying away from this tough assignment on chasing debut.

The top four in the betting will be tough to crack, but I am looking forward to seeing how Barley Lane fares in a quality field.

Selection: Barley Lane

15:48 2m Irish EBF Mares (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race (4yo+)

BALLYDONAGH GIRL ran out an easy winner in a Mares Maiden point-to-point on soft ground at Liscarroll back in March. She was bought by current connections for £155,000 at the Cheltenham Sale in April, and I think the daughter of Shirocco can make it a winning rules and stable debut.

She’s from the family of Cobbler’s Queen, a mare I knew well from my days riding for Henry Daly, so I would expect Ballydonagh Girl to have a good attitude and give a good account in the final race of the afternoon at Naas.

Selection: Ballydonagh Girl
