13:02 6f (5f180y) Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden (2yo) 7f Golf At Gowran Park Nursery Handicap (2yo 0-60)
Prince Of Peppard was caught late on by stable companion Celestial Crown, over course and distance last time out. He sat prominent and looked to be travelling best as they met the rising ground. He looked the winner inside the final furlong, only to be collared in the shadows of the post.
Blinkers now replace the cheekpieces, and I think Prince Of Peppard can get a deserved success in the opener.

13:32 6f (5f180y) Christmas Parties At Navan Racecourse 5th & 13th December Handicap (3yo+ 0-60)
Rodeeve bounced back to form with a third-placed effort over course and distance last time out, finishing a neck behind Coincidental Glory, who finished second. I think at the weights, Rodeeve can reverse that form, and there is every chance that the Michael Browne-trained mare can register her second career success in what looks an open handicap.

Although Aedhmar was a beaten favourite on racecourse debut, that was a very promising start. She was only beaten a neck by the winner, and the first three home pulled 2 lengths clear of the fourth.
Aedhmar finished second behind Victorious (who has since won the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot) at Naas last time out, with Livenka (twice a winner and second in Listed company since), over 2 lengths behind in third. That form should see Aedhmar difficult to beat.

Oesterode was just denied over 5f at Bellewstown last time out. I think the stiff uphill finish here will suit Oesterode, and she should be thereabouts once again in the hands of jockey Billy Lee.

Previous course and distance winner, Happy Henry was a staying-on fourth in a seventeen-runner apprentice handicap over 5f at The Curragh last Thursday.
He’s a hold up performer who I think will appreciate returning to Navan, and only has 8 rivals to face here, so traffic problems should be at a minimal.

It might pay to side with the Kevin Coleman-trained Palina, in the hands of jockey Seamie Heffernan. The pair stayed on from the back of the field to finish a well held third on racecourse debut, over the extended 1m 2f trip at Cork last May.
While dropping down to a stiff 7f might not be ideal, Palina should strip sharper and appreciate the climb inside the final furlong.

I think the Jessica Harrington-trained Possum has found a good opportunity to open her account at the fifth attempt. She travelled strongly for most of the 1m 6f trip at Listowel last time out, but seemed to lose her stride turning for home. She eventually finished fifth, four lengths behind the winner, Count Bezukhov.
I think the more galloping track here will suit. Cheekpieces remain on once again.

17:04 1m6f Navan Racecourse Handicap (3yo+ 0-60)
This can go the way of the Noel Meade-trained Acanto, who has been knocking on the door in her last three outings, and a chance is taken that the daughter of Churchill can open her account on only her seventh career start, with jockey Colin Keane doing the steering.
