Quarter-Final Match Betting and Predictions:
Thursday May 09th
(Prices correct as of 3pm on May 09th)
(7:15pm) 15/20 Michael van Gerwen v Gerwyn Price Evs (Prediction – Michael van Gerwen, Michael van Gerwen lost his opening match in Aberdeen following a last-leg decider against Rob Cross. That was a high-quality contest and MVG had a dart at bullseye to win that deciding leg, but it wasn’t to be for the Green Machine.
Gerwyn Price withdrew from the visit to Aberdeen due to a back injury and even if The Iceman is back available for this week’s action in Leeds, his fitness will have to be taken on trust and for that reason, it will have to be a win for MVG in this opening quarter-final for me.) Correct Score Prediction – 6-4
(8pm) 1/7 Luke Littler v Peter Wright 4/1 (Prediction – Luke Littler, Luke Littler produced wins against Nathan Aspinall, Michael Smith and Rob Cross to win in Aberdeen and record back-to-back weekly night wins for the second time this premier league season. Having survived a match dart against The Asp, he then produced averages of 110 to beat Smith 6-1 and 102 in his 6-4 final win over Rob Cross.
Peter Wright lost his opener in Aberdeen to Michael Smith despite hitting five maximums and averaging 92.81. It was a little bit more like it from Peter Wright, yet not good enough to get a win, which has been the story of his league campaign. Taking all of this into consideration, it is impossible to envisage anything other than a comfortable Luke Littler win in this match.) Correct Score Prediction – 6-3
(8:45pm) 1/2 Luke Humphries v Rob Cross 6/4 (Prediction – Luke Humphries, Luke Humphries was below his usual best in Aberdeen on Thursday last, where he recieved a bye over the absent Gerwyn Price before losing out narrowly on a 6-5 scoreline to Rob Cross in the semi-finals. He has been enjoying some time away from darts in between Premier League action this past few weeks and should be a fresher man come the action in Leeds.
Rob Cross has a very small chance of making the play-offs but would need to win the night outright and even that may not be enough to see him through. I’m going for a fresh Luke Humphries to end the hopes of Rob Cross in this year’s Premier League campaign and win this exciting contest.) Correct Score Prediction – 6-4
(9:30pm) 19/20 Nathan Aspinall v Michael Smith 4/5 (Prediction – Michael Smith,
This is the match that we are all looking forward to, as it will have a big say in who qualifies for finals night between these two players. Nathan Aspinall lost out in a last-leg decider to eventual winner Luke Littler on Thursday last, where as Michael Smith beat Peter Wright before losing comprehensively (6-1) in the semi-final to the aforementioned Littler.
Nerves could well play a part with so much at stake and expect a cracking match between two in-form players. In a tough one to call, I’m going for a narrow win for Michael Smith, just.) Correct Score Prediction – 5-6
Week 15 Nightly Winner (Leeds) Prediction: Luke Humphries @ 3/1
Luke Littler 11/8 – Luke Humphries 7/4 – Michael van Gerwen 6/1 – Nathan Aspinall 7/1 – Michael Smith 12/1 – Rob Cross 300/1
