12:50 1m½f (1m73y) Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden (2yo)
With the conditions testing the flat card this afternoon, it will be a little bit of a slog. A chance is taken here with the unraced Moyglare Stud Farm-owned filly, LOOKING FOR LOVE. This filly will be ridden by Seamie Heffernan for the Johnny Murtagh team, and her dam, Tocco D’amore, was unbeaten in two starts, winning on soft ground at Naas back in 2017. The Johnny Murtagh team unleashed Bobardi to be a well-backed two-year-old winner at Dundalk on Friday last, so keep an eye on this filly in the market.
Selection: Looking For Love
13:20 1m½f (1m73y) Racing In The City Of Tribes Handicap (3yo+)
Matthew Smith-trained EXCUZIO JOE is an interesting runner because she relishes soft underfoot conditions and also has course form. She is a three-time winner from twenty-five starts, and two of those three victories came at Ballybrit. The other victory came at Navan all the way back in 2021. From eight starts at Galway, she has two wins and two seconds, so returning here will be positive. She is drawn nicely in stall five, and the handicap mark of 73 is also kind, as she was placed off 80 here in the past. With luck in running, it will be hard to see her out of the frame.
Selection: Excusio Joe
13:55 7f Electric Galway Maiden (2yo)
John O’Donoghue will send NONSENSE to post here in the hands of Rowan Scott, and this gelding has a chance of getting off the mark at second time of asking. He ran a very promising debut behind Hmas Perth at the Curragh on soft ground, and with normal improvement he should go very close. His dam, Chachamaidee, was a Group 1 winner when she landed the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown in 2012, and three of her progeny have also been victorious on track. Nonsense is a half-brother to a soft-ground winner called Klassique, trained by William Haggas, so that will hopefully point to him having no issues with the ground.
Selection: Nonsense

14:25 7f www.swordsecurity.com Nursery Handicap (2yo)
MELCHIZEDEK could be the first winner for Mikey Fogarty as a trainer after this colt caught the eye under hands and heels riding down the straight at Thurles last time out. He was 250/1 but ran on strongly to suggest there could be more to come on his nursery debut. Sam Coen leads the way in the apprentice title, but Reese Holohan and Paddy Harnett are not too far away. Sam will take a very valuable five pounds off the back of this runner, and that should see him in the shake-up.
Selection: Melchizedek
14:55 7f Corrib Food Products Maiden (3yo+)
With the hood applied for the first time, it could be another topweight winner on the card as SPACEBOUND will carry 9-10 for Patrick McGettigan and Daniel McLoughlin. This son of Harry Angel ran a promising race last time at the Curragh, finishing fourth behind Blue Blue Moon. He was prominent throughout and weakened close to home, suggesting the drop back in trip to seven furlongs should be in his favour. He is drawn in stall nine and will be looking to get over and slot in before coming with a late run.
Selection: Spacebound

15:25 7f Barna Recycling Handicap (3yo+ 0-60)
Tariff and GOD KNOWS will re-oppose after finishing first and second at the Curragh on October 20th. God Knows led narrowly inside the final furlong and was picked off close home, and might be able to get her revenge here. Trained by Paul Sweeney, it could be a quick double on the card for jockey Patrick McGettigan. This mare has won twice from twenty-seven starts, and while they were on good ground, she does also have placed form on softer conditions. With a little luck in running from a wide draw in eleven, she should be involved in the finish.
Selection: God Knows
15:55 1m4f (1m3f180y) Galway Handicap (3yo+)
Tom Gibney has certainly found the key to RYEFIELD DASHER of late, and this gelding will look to land three on the bounce with Nicola Burns in the saddle. The handicapper has raised him from 70 to 80 for those victories, which isn’t overly severe. The manner of victory last time was impressive, and a repeat would be more than enough here. He is drawn nicely in stall four, and there is a chance Nicola goes forward and tries to make all once again.
Selection: Ryefield Dasher
16:25 1m4f (1m3f180y) Galway Races Handicap (3yo+ 0-60)
The final race on the card looks like a very competitive puzzle to try and solve, and a chance is taken with the Sheila Lavery-trained TINTINABULLA. Siobhan Rutledge will be aboard, as she was last time at Bellewstown when they adopted front-running tactics and got picked off close to home. This filly is drawn in stall four, and connections could decide to go forward again. She drops back half a furlong, and she might just be able to see it out a little better here. The fractions will be key, but she’s a filly that is finding form, and she could be involved in the finish.
Selection: Tintinabulla
