13:35 2m½f (2m125y) Book Boxing Day At Market Rasen Juvenile Hurdle (GBB Race) (Class 4) (3yo)
Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen have had a few nice winners in recent weeks, and a French recruit called DON DANDY should take all the beating at prohibitive odds. The last time this horse was seen was at Compiègne when he won by five lengths in the hands of James Reveley, and it was a visually impressive performance. It doesn’t look the strongest juvenile hurdle, and this horse should go close on UK debut.
Selection: Don Dandy
14:10 2m5½f (2m5f89y) Middle Distance Chase Series Veterans’ Handicap Chase (Class 2) (10yo+ 0-150)
It could be a quick double for the Olly Murphy team as SURE TOUCH comes here fit after a run 29 days ago. The two runs this season could see him back at peak fitness, and his course record is very solid. He has 3 wins from 6 starts at Market Rasen, and the blinkers will be applied for the first time. If that can spark a little life into him around a course he loves, then he could be the one they all have to beat.
Selection: Sure Touch
14:41 3m3½f (3m3f123y) Christmas Jumper & Student Raceday 3rd December Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (Class 3) (4yo+ 0-140)
Joe Tizzard has his team in excellent form, with four winners at Ffos Las and JPR One a nice winner for the team at Cheltenham in recent days. RIVERS CORNER will represent the team here in the colours of John Romans and was a winner at Exeter two starts back. He has had 202 days off the track, and in a stable tour last year the trainer was adamant that this horse wants a bit of cut in the ground. With conditions likely in his favour, he can run a big race.
Selection: Rivers Corner
15:00 1m4f Gran Premio del Jockey Club – S.I.R.E. Trofeo Pio Bruni (Group 2) (Turf) (3yo+)
With all the focus around Constitution Hill in this race, people might look away from the obvious. DUBAI HONOUR has Group 1 form in the book, having finished second to Goliath last time out in the Preis von Europa at Cologne. He is an eight-time winner and has won plenty on his travels, winning Group 1 races at Rosehill, Saint Cloud and Royal Randwick. Tom Marquand will make his way to Milan to take the mount, and this runner looks very tough to beat with plenty in his favour.
Selection: Dubai Honour
