13:12 2m2f (2m2f54y) SANSERV Rated Novice Chase (4yo+)

An intriguing start to the card at Galway on Saturday, and BEGORRA MAN looks like one who could improve as he starts out over the larger obstacles. He was fifth to Kopek Des Bordes over Christmas in 2024 and then finished second four times in a row behind the likes of Gameofinches, Soul Asylum, Kilgame and Quinta Do Lago. He has been off the track for 178 days, and while he could improve for the run, he looks like one of the main contenders here for Keith Donoghue and Gavin Cromwell.

Selection: Begorra Man

13:42 2m½f (2m90y) 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle (3yo)

Hurricane Fly was one of the greatest hurdles to ever emerge from the Closutton yard of Willie Mullins, and SHARKEYBOY will carry the famous Creighton family colours in this 3-Y-O maiden hurdle. This runner caught the eye a couple of times on the level at Leopardstown and Galway but was slightly below par last time at Listowel. The dam is a close relative to Melbourne Cup runner-up Purple Moon, suggesting there is plenty of stamina in the pedigree. A clear round should see him involved and could be smart in this division this season.

Selection: Sharkeyboy

14:12 2m½f (2m90y) Connolly’s RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction & Median Maiden Hurdle (4-5yo)

Ross O’Sullivan and Danny Gilligan team up with COOLISHAEL, who has shown some consistent form in three maiden hurdles and will be looking to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking. The second at Listowel last time behind Tell The Boys was a solid performance, and a repeat of that should be more than enough.

Selection: Coolishael

14:45 2m½f (2m90y) Corrib Oil Maiden Hurdle (4yo+)

A race that lacks substantial form, and THINKITDONTJINXIT could be a winner for the Gigginstown team with Jack Kennedy aboard for Gordon Elliott. A non-runner at Punchestown and Limerick of late suggests that he is ready to go. Any rain around will certainly be in his favour, having finished second on two occasions on heavy ground at Thurles in February and March. He looks a smart recruit to the hurdling division and should go close with luck in running.

Selection: Thinkitdontjinxit

15:20 2m6f (2m5f200y) W.B. Gavin & Co. Handicap Hurdle (4yo+)

Noel Meade and Donagh Meyler team up with ZOFFMAN, who finished second on a recent hurdle run at Gowran Park in early October. The handicapper has nudged him up three pounds from 116 to 119, and that should leave him competitive here again. He is relatively lightly raced over hurdles; this will be his eighth start. He has one win and two seconds from those eight, and with 10-10 on his back, he should get involved in the finish.

Selection: Zoffman

15:55 3m COLM QUINN BMW Handicap Hurdle (4yo+ 0-100)

It could be a quick double on the card for Donagh Meyler, who will be legged up on VISION DE MAINE for the Emmet Mullins team here. It will be his first start for the yard, and the form figures of PPP wouldn’t suggest a big run is forthcoming. He will likely be campaigned over fences later in the season, but the last time he ran off a mark of 96, he was successful at Lingfield in November 2024. He was third off a mark of 109 at Ascot towards the end of 2025, so could be very attractively handicapped for a shrewd yard.

Selection: Vision De Maine

16:32 2m½f (2m90y) Electric Galway (C & G) (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race (4yo)

The booking of Patrick Mullins aboard HERE’S JIM for Barry Fitzgerald catches the eye. This runner is a second foal; dam Scandinavian Listed-placed 1m-1m4f winner, half-sister to German 1m/1m1f Listed winner Angelita, out of a German 1m3f Listed winner. His dam was second on soft ground, so the market will likely tell us plenty about his chances.

Selection: Here’s Jim
