Leeds will be looking to use the home crowd to unsettle a Manchester United side who were lackluster in the first half against Spurs last weekend. The one thing to notice with Leeds of late is that they don’t defend deep. They want to disrupt opponents, win the ball and attack quickly, while also having the physicality to compete in a more direct game. They haven’t lost a home game since a 1-0 defeat to Sunderland back in March, and Man Utd will arrive here after a trip to Spain to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Manchester United didn’t get a positive result in Spain, so the pressure will pile on Michael Carrick ahead of this fixture. The opening stages of the game at Old Trafford against Spurs were very poor, and they had very few forays into the opposition’s half. Old Trafford is not a fortress for the home side anymore, and teams do not fear making the way to Manchester. Man Utd will play away from home until October 25, and that could be the tonic that the manager needs.

Goals – Leeds United
One of the main goal threats for Leeds will be Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Calvert-Lewin has scored three league goals from 11 shots, with seven on target in that time. Similar to the struggles Lisandro Martinez had with Dominic Solanke, he could have trouble here also. He can occupy both centre-backs, attack crosses, win aerial duels and give Leeds an outlet when United press high.
Goals – Manchester United
The goal threat from Manchester United will come from both Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha. Mbeumo has three league goals and scored United’s goal in the recent 1–1 draw against Tottenham, where he was assisted by Cunha. He has also recorded eight shots on target from 21 attempts in the league.
Matheus Cunha, on the other hand, has one league goal and nine chances created. When the two combine, they can cause a few issues for defences, and if Leeds attack with their full-backs up high, then Cunha and Mbeumo could be electric on the counter-attack.

Joe Rodon is still recovering from a hamstring issue and is likely to miss out, while there are also questions over the fitness of Dan James and Harry Wilson.
For Manchester United, much will depend on how the players come away from the game v Atletico Madrid. Doubts over the likes of Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui will need to be assessed prior to the weekend.
