14:05 1m (7f205y) Gilna’s Of Laytown Optional Claiming Maiden (3yo+)
Jessica Harrington and Billy Lee will team up with NAUTIC STAR who has eight runs and five places on the form sheet. If any of these runs can be produced again then you would expect Nautic Star to be a tough nut to crack. She finished fourth to Divine Legend last time at Fairyhouse back on the 21st of September where she kept on well from two furlongs down and went fourth close home. She has been campaigned over seven furlongs and a mile and runs over the seven furlongs again here and nicely drawn in stall four.

Local trainer Thomas Coyle has a very interesting runner here with SELECTIVE POWER who has been falling in the weights on last six starts. The handicap mark has dropped seven pounds from 64 to 57 and a repeat of the penultimate run behind Navajo Point will seem in the frame here. This gelding has a wide draw in 18, but James Ryan will have to take his medicine early and drop in and hope for luck in running down the straight.

Recent Cambridgeshire winning trainer Adrian McGuinness will send MOYASSR to post for the fourth time for his stable and the mark has crept up from 60 to 69. Three seconds back-to-back for this runner shows how consistent it has been of late and a similar level of form here should be enough to see it get involved once again. Sam Coen leads the apprentice title and will be looking to add another valuable winner here.

There is plenty of speed in the pedigree for OSTERODE who represents Willie McCreery here being a sister to Ostraka and a half sister to Charlemont, the dam is a half sister to Osterhase. This filly has started to get her act together and ran a solid second behind Forza Magico at Down Royal last time out. She has the plum draw in stall one and you would expect Billy Lee to try and make use of it and go forward. There doesn’t look much pace in the race and making the running could help her get off the mark.

Much like Moyassr earlier on the card NOUVEL ESPOIR has the frustrating run of seconds on last two starts. The handicap mark has been nudged up from 64 to 70 and even though this gelding is a four-time winner this will be the highest mark it has run off of late. It was third off this mark behind Ostraka at Navan in September 2024. Colin Keane booked for James Barcoe and drawn in stall eight, luck in running may be needed but no better man on board to get the luck when needed close home.

17:00 1m4½f (1m4f110y) Paddy Woods Memorial Apprentice Series Final Apprentice Handicap (4yo+)
Patrick Magee who is based in Co.Cavan looks to hold the aces here being double handed with Arch Enemy and COULSTYS WAY. Reese Holohan will be back aboard this Coulstys Way after he won on her at Galway last time out. The form of the race has worked out well with the second Canon Law winning on next start. This filly has gone up from 62 to 72 and Reese won’t be able to claim but should still run a solid race.

Joseph O’Brien and Joey Sheridan team up with SOLNESS who has mixed it with the best over obstacles and will be looking to try and get off the mark at third time of asking on the level. In between his two flat runs of late he finished 13th in the Galway Hurdle behind Putapoundinthejar. Tramore was a track that wouldn’t have really suited and the longer home straight here at Bellewstown should play to his strengths.
