Tuesday’s EFL Cup Best Bets

West Ham v Fulham, Tue, 19:45, Sky Sports+

The Hammers have quickly established themselves as firm favourites for the Championship title, with last weekend’s 6-0 win at home to Wrexham taking them to the top of the table. Keeping a hold of Jarrod Bowen post-relegation was always likely to prove key, and the West Ham skipper hasn’t disappointed. Bowen has already scored six times this season, and while he may be rested for this one, he could have a part to play at some point.

Fulham are also likely to rotate ahead of facing Manchester United this weekend. The Cottagers had to work hard to claim a point at Anfield on Saturday, but those exertions could catch up with them here.

West Ham have won their last three home games, and five of their last six dating back to last season, while Fulham are currently winless in their last seven away matches.

BEST BET: West Ham to qualify (11/10)

We paid out on both Chelsea and Leeds as match winners in their EFL Cup last week, as Leeds led 0-2 before losing 6-3.

Liverpool v Tottenham, Tue, 20:00, Sky Sports Main Event

Despite the fact that Liverpool failed to score at the weekend and that Spurs are yet to score this season, this fixture usually gives us goals, and getting away from the pressures of league football may help both sides.

Goals look hard to ignore when Liverpool and Spurs meet. The last 12 Premier League clashes have all seen both teams score, producing a whopping 52 goals at an average of more than four per game. At Anfield, it gets even better for the goals market, the last five meetings have served up 25 goals, an incredible average of exactly five per game.

Liverpool have not looked certain of themselves at the back this season, despite claiming two clean sheets in their last three games, and given that Spurs may bring in the likes of James Maddison and Mohammed Kudus in a bid to sharpen them back up after lengthy layoffs, there could be some issues caused for the hosts.

However, Andoni Iraola will be keen to avoid a home cup exit early on in his reign, so expect Liverpool to be well up for this.

BEST BET: BTTS Yes (12/25)
