Adrian Murray Targets Bar One Racing Diamond Stakes at Dundalk with Irish Oaks Winner You Got To Me

Ahead of the Bar One Racing Best Odds Guaranteed Diamond Stakes (Listed Race) at Dundalk Stadium on Friday, leading trainer Adrian Murray is set to unleash last year’s Irish Oaks winner You Got To Me.

You Got To Me Set for Diamond Stakes at Dundalk

The Diamond Stakes will be You Got To Me’s first start for Adrian Murray since joining his yard. The high-class filly, owned by Amo Racing, won the Irish Oaks in 2024 by three-quarters of a length from Aidan O’Brien’s Content, who later landed the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks at York.

Murray said:

“She has settled in well and had a good racecourse gallop recently, but Friday is very much a fact-finding mission. She holds entries in a couple of Group 1 races, including the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, but Friday will tell us more.”

Her presence adds star quality to the Bar One Racing Diamond Stakes, scheduled for 7.15pm as the sixth race on Dundalk’s eight-race card.

Adrian Murray on Arizona Blaze and Bucanero Fuerte

Murray also provided updates on his Group 1 stars Arizona Blaze and Bucanero Fuerte, both of whom could target the Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar in November.

On Arizona Blaze, winner of the Bar One Racing Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh earlier this month, Murray said:

“Arizona Blaze is great – he’s bouncing – and the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Del Mar (November 1st) is still very much the target.”

Murray has already enjoyed success in a big Bar One Racing sponsored event this season.

Meanwhile, Bucanero Fuerte, who finished third behind his stablemate in the Flying Five, could contest the Breeders’ Cup Mile. The colt, a son of the late Wootton Bassett, won the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh in 2023 and holds huge potential at stud when he retires.

Strong Partnership with Amo Racing

Murray credits much of his recent success to his relationship with Amo Racing, who have invested heavily in top-level thoroughbreds.

“Amo Racing put such a huge amount into racing that it is great to see them enjoying success. We have a very good relationship with them which, of course, is very pleasing for everyone involved.”

Amo Racing have not been afraid to splash the cash in recent years.

With the news that the exceptional stallion Wootton Bassett has passed away, Bucanero Fuerte, a son of the sire, holds great potential at stud when retirement comes. He, too, is a Group 1 winner, having landed the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh in August 2023.

Adrian continued, “Amo Racing put such a huge amount into racing that it is great to see them enjoying success. We have a very good relationship with them which, of course, is very pleasing for everyone involved.”

Dundalk Specialist

Adrian Murray has been the standout trainer at Dundalk Stadium in 2025. His 16 winners so far include Arizona Blaze, who struck there in March. With a 25% strike-rate at the track, Murray is looking to extend his remarkable run this Friday.

“We’ve had a fantastic year at Dundalk,” he said. “It’s exciting to have a filly like You Got To Me in the yard and she brings real quality to Friday’s Diamond Stakes.”

Final Word On You Got To Me

While he is cautious about the chance of You Got To Me on Friday, a good run is not ruled out. “It’s exciting to have her in the yard”, he said, And there’s no doubt that her presence on Friday adds an extra layer of quality and excitement to the Bar One Racing Best Odds Guaranteed Diamond Stakes, to give it its full title, which is due off at 7.15pm as race six on an eight-race Dundalk card that is scheduled to begin at 4.40pm.
