The Bar One Racing 2025 Irish Greyhound Laurels is Launched!
The Irish Greyhound Laurels, one of Ireland’s most prestigious greyhound racing competitions, was officially launched this afternoon at Curraheen Park.
Now in the third year of an innovative four-year partnership, the event unites two fantastic supporters of greyhound racing: Bar One Racing, under CEO Barney O’Hare, a renowned name in the industry, and The Friends & Supporters of Cork Greyhound Racing, chaired by the legendary Jimmy Barry Murphy.
The Laurels offers a first prize of €30,000 to the winner, with an overall prize fund of over €60,000, making it one of the richest and most competitive greyhound events in Ireland.
Speaking at the launch, Tim Lucey, CEO of Greyhound Racing Ireland, underlined the importance of the Laurels:

Founded in Dundalk, County Louth, in 1995 by CEO Barney O’Hare, Bar One Racing has grown significantly over the past 25 years. With more than 350 staff and 53 shops across Ireland, the company added the Irish Greyhound Laurels to its portfolio of major horse and greyhound events in 2023.
2025 Schedule:
- Trap Draw: Monday, October 6th
- First Round: Saturday, October 11th
- Second Round: Saturday, October 18th
- Quarter Finals: Saturday, October 25th
- Semi-Finals: Saturday, November 1st
- Final: Saturday, November 8th (Broadcast live on Virgin Media TV from 9.00pm – 10.00pm)
