Athlone Town v Treaty United, Fri, 19:45, LOI TV
Seán O’Connor has worked miracles so far during his time in charge at Athlone, and his team can take a massive step towards qualifying for the play-offs by beating a struggling Treaty United on Friday. Athlone Town sit top of the form table over the past five and ten matches played, with the Midlanders taking 21 points from the last 30 possible. Treaty United have claimed just ten points in the same period; only the bottom club, Finn Harps, has claimed fewer points in that time.
With Athlone Town currently level on points with Longford Town and Kerry FC, goal difference could prove key in the race for the top five. Athlone travel to their local rivals Longford on the final day of the regular season next week, so winning this game by a healthy margin could put them in the driving seat.
Treaty United were hammered 0-4 at home by UCD last week, and fears of a similar scoreline here may not be an unrealistic fear.
BEST BET: Athlone Town -1 (11/10)

Bray Wanderers v Wexford FC, Fri, 19:45, LOI TV
It’s been another disappointing season for Wexford, who, despite scoring a late equaliser at home to Longford last week, are now officially out of the play-off picture. By contrast, Bray are enjoying another strong season and will punch their play-off ticket with a positive result here.
Only runaway league winners Cork City have scored more goals than Bray this season, while only the bottom two have leaked more goals than Wexford. With only one team having anything to play for, this could end up being a rather one-sided affair.
BEST BET: Bray Wanderers -1 (11/8)
Friday’s LOI Double
- Athlone Town -1 (v Treaty United)
- Bray Wanderers -1 (v Wexford FC)
- Combined odds: 3.98/1
