Quarter-Final Match Betting and Predictions:
Thursday, April 25th
(Prices correct as of 3 pm on April 22nd)
(7:15pm) 6/10 Luke Littler v Gerwyn Price 5/4 (Prediction – Gerwyn Price, Luke Littler lost his opening quarter-final 6-3 to Michael Smith in Rotterdam last week, he then won his opening match at the weekend’s European Darts Grand Prix in Germany before losing out in a last-leg decider to World Champ Luke Humphries in Sindelfingen.
Gerwyn Price beat Rob Cross 6-3 In his opener in Rotterdam, before losing a last-leg decider to Michael Smith in the semi-finals. He then went on a good run at the European Darts Grand Prix before eventually losing 6-4 to eventual winner Gary Anderson in round three. Taking all of this into consideration, I’m going for a Gerwyn Price win in this quarter-final.) Correct Score Prediction – 4-6
(8pm) 2/5 Luke Humphries v Nathan Aspinall 7/4 (Prediction – Nathan Aspinall, World No.1 and World champion Luke Humphries disposed of MVG in last Thursday’s quarter-finals in Rotterdam before throwing away a 4-1 lead in the semi-finals and losing 6-4 to the eventual nightly winner and this week’s opponent Nathan Aspinall. The draught (breeze) which affected all the players in last Thursday’s venue seemed to mentally affect Humphries more than most of the other players on the night.
Luke made it to the quarter-finals of last weekend’s Euro Tour event, where he lost out to Rob Cross on a 6-2 scoreline and mentioned being fatigued in an interview afterwards. Nathan Aspinall was the nightly winner in Holland last week, with wins over Peter Wright, Luke Humphries, and Michael Smith. He didn’t compete in last weekend’s Euro Tour event. A fresh Nathan Aspinall is my selection in this quarter-final.) Correct Score Prediction – 4-6
(8:45pm) 16/5 Peter Wright v Michael van Gerwen 1/5 (Prediction – Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright put in a shocking display in Rotterdam last Thursday, where he was comprehensively beaten 6-2 by eventual winner Nathan Aspinall. He then suffered a shock defeat to Tyrone man Mickey Mansell in the recent Euro Tour event in Germany.
Michael van Gerwen was below par in his 6-4 defeat to Luke Humphries in last Thursday’s quarter-finals, before somehow losing his Euro Tour semi-final 7-6 to Ross Smith, where lots of missed doubles cost him his place in the final. Even taking all of this into account, it is hard to envisage anything other than a convincing win for MVG in this quarter-final game.) Correct Score Prediction – 2-6
(9:30pm) 7/10 Michael Smith v Rob Cross 11/10 (Prediction – Michael Smith, Michael Smith enjoyed wins over Luke Littler and Gerwyn Price in Rotterdam last week, before losing 6-4 to Nathan Aspinall in a thrilling final. He then lost out in a high-quality contest to Josh Rock in the recent Euro tour event in Germany.
Rob Cross suffered a 6-3 loss to Gerwyn Price in his opening quarter-final on Thursday last, before going on a good run at the recent European Darts Grand Prix on the Euro Tour, before eventually losing out on a 7-5 scoreline to eventual winner Gary Anderson at the semi-final stage. I’m going for a narrow win for Michael Smith in what should be a high-quality affair.) Correct Score Prediction – 6-5
Week 13 Nightly Winner (Liverpool) Prediction: Michael van Gerwen @ 33/10
Luke Humphries 7/4 – Luke Littler 11/5 – Michael van Gerwen 4/1 – Nathan Aspinall 7/1 – Michael Smith 10/1 – Gerwyn Price 25/1 – Rob Cross 40/1 Peter Wright 1000/1
