14:50 Deauville – 1m The Aga Khan Studs Prix Jacques le Marois (Group 1) (Turf) (3yo+)
Precise brings strong Group 1 form to the table and is hard to rule out. She landed the Irish 1,000 Guineas in May before following up in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, and has since filled the runner-up spot in two further Group 1 contests. Last seen, she ran a solid race when second in the Prix Rothschild over 1600m at Deauville on August 2. With proven form at the highest level, she should be competitive again.

16:25 Curragh – 1m2f Newbridge Silverware Royal Whip Stakes (Group 3) (3yo+)
A Boy Named Susie sets a clear standard on the balance of form and looks the one to beat. His only victory came on debut at Killarney, but he has since developed into a top-class performer, confirming the promise of an unlucky French Derby run when finishing a superb second at 20/1 in the Group 1 Eclipse at Sandown, beaten only three lengths by Constitution River after reversing Chantilly form with Hawk Mountain.
The Donnacha O’Brien-trained colt stays 10 furlongs, could improve for this step up to 12, handles both soft and good ground, and the booking of Oisin Murphy only strengthens his claims. In a five-runner field, anything other than victory would be a major surprise.

16:45 Pontefract – 6f EBF Flying Fillies’ Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies & Mares) (Class 1) (3yo+)
Sing The Blues arrives in excellent form after winning three of her last four starts, including a neck success in a Goodwood handicap last time out. The progressive filly is effective over 6f and 7f on good ground, but this represents a significant step up in class, and while she’ll need to find another level against rivals with stronger top-level form, Cieren Fallon is in fantastic form with 12 winners in the last 14 days at the time of writing (24%). While a win may be beyond her, the Martin Dunne-trained filly might trouble the judges.

16:55 Curragh – 5f Irish EBF Juvenile Sprint Stakes (Listed Race) (2yo)
Armor Supreme looks the standout in this company after holding her own at a much higher level. The Curragh-trained filly made a winning debut at Goodwood before going down narrowly in Listed company at York, and she wasn’t disgraced when beaten just four lengths in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot, a race that has worked out particularly well. Dropping back into this grade over her optimum 5f, she has the strongest form in the field, while the fact that Rossa Ryan makes the trip over for his only ride of the afternoon only adds to her appeal.
