17:30 1m2½f Carlsberg Optional Claiming Race (3yo+)
Timandi arrives in good form, having won a similar contest at Tramore before finishing a close second in a Killarney claimer latest, where she was beaten just half a length. Proven effective up to 12f and versatile on soft, good and all-weather surfaces, she should be competitive again and is likely to be thereabouts.

18:00 1m2½f Irish Stallion Farms EBF Connacht Oaks Fillies & Mares Handicap (3yo+)
Cornelienne is an interesting contender, having been a multiple winner in France and placed at Listed level before joining Joseph O’Brien. She showed promise over hurdles last winter, improving for debut experience when second at Fairyhouse latest, finishing behind former Champion Bumper heroine Bambino Fever.
The mare returns with her stable in excellent form. Effective over 12-15f and versatile on heavy and good ground, she looks potentially well treated on her French form and could spring a minor surprise.

18:30 6f Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden (IRE Incentive Race) (2yo)
Lady Patrona has shown enough to suggest she can land a maiden, with her recent form working out well. Her fourth at Naas last time looks stronger in hindsight, with the winner subsequently going close in Listed company and the runner-up winning since.
She sets a solid standard from her penultimate run when finishing midfield behind a recent Group 2 winner, and appeared to need a stiffer test when beaten just 3l latest. Effective over 5-6f on good ground, the step up in trip should suit, and she looks the one to beat.

19:00 6f John Gilligan Memorial Nursery Handicap (2yo)
Tatianna is likely to prove popular as the only previous winner in the field. She was raised just 6lb for a successful handicap debut and remains respected, although she needs to prove her effectiveness over this longer trip. Hi Corbett Court has an each-way chance on her nursery debut, having run to form when beaten 3l in a valuable Cork 2yo race latest. Trained by Paddy Twomey, she could find improvement on her handicap debut under Billy Lee.

19:30 6f 0-60 3yo Handicap
Glen Breeze failed to get home over 7f at Gowran Park last time and is better judged on his previous cosy success at Limerick. He scored by 1¼l off a 9lb lower mark on that occasion and remains effective over 6-7f on good ground. Back down in trip should suit, and having got his head in front, he may still have more to offer from the same mark. He looks the main danger.

20:00 1m5½f Guinness Handicap (3yo)
Chicago Man could be difficult to oppose here after her breakthrough win for Henry de Bromhead at Killarney last time. The longer trip shouldn’t be an issue given how she pulled away last time, and she may be good enough to overcome a 9lb hike in the weights.
However, Private Larry could cause an upset, having won easily over 1m4f at Belewstown in early July before running a belter over hurdles at Killarney next time. He landed a handicap by 3½l off an 11lb lower mark and, despite racing keenly and not seeing out the trip over hurdles last time, he remains open to improvement back on the Flat. Effective over 12f on good ground and still progressive, he should give a strong account despite the rise in the weights.

20:30 1m5½f Rockshore Cider Handicap (4yo+ 0-60)
All eyes will be on whether Reflectionist can back up his 50/1 upset at Ballinrobe just over a fortnight ago. The Mark Fahey-trained 9yo bolted up by over 7 lengths there, with the trainer putting the rapid improvement down to the application of first-time cheekpieces and the removal of a tongue strap. An 11lb hike in the weights has followed.
While it’s possible that Reflectionist may still have something up his sleeve, it may pay to side with a more reliable sort of late in Young Churchill, who is off an unchanged mark for a neck defeat at Limerick and a 4l defeat at Killarney last time.
Never nearer than at the finish in Limerick, Young Churchill looked in need of further in Kerry last time so may enjoy this step up in trip.
