The 2025 Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup was officially launched on Monday at Dundalk Stadium, with the draw for the opening round of the prestigious competition taking centre stage. Now in its 21st consecutive year under the sponsorship of Bar One Racing, the Sprint Cup has firmly established itself as one of Ireland’s premier events in the greyhound racing calendar.

Offering a €20,000 winner’s prize, the competition is once again set to deliver high-quality racing and fierce competition over the coming four weeks. Defending champion Broadstrand Syd returns to attempt back-to-back titles, though he faces a stern test from the outset—drawn in a challenging opening heat that includes Road Exile, who finished third in last year’s final.
In addition to the established stars, several emerging talents will be looking to make an impact. Among them is the exciting young prospect Lennies Tank, who has caught the eye with some impressive trial performances in recent weeks.
The first-round heats will take place this Saturday, launching a month of elite sprint action. The competition will culminate with the final on Friday, August 15th, scheduled to follow the day’s horse racing on Dundalk’s popular Dual Racing Family Fun Day.
