Friday night's meeting will be the last one at Dundalk in 2019

Alan Marron has been in red hot form with his tips for BarOneRacing.com this season.

DUNDALK PREVIEW 18/12/2019

4.30 IRISHINJUREDJOCKEYS.COM HANDICAP (3yo+ 45-65) Winner €5,910 14 runners 5f Standard RTV

BAMBARI looks a very interesting runner here following a very good run off a long break. This horse was off for 707 days but led for most of the day on his reappearance when fourth of fourteen behind May Remain on the 1st November at Dundalk.  May Remain won off 56 that night and has since followed up off 63 so the form looks very strong. Bambari has been dropped 4lb from 45 to 41 and that looks very lenient. The trip looks likely to suit and he could very well make all the running here. Solid each way chance in what looks a trappy race.

5.00 CHRISTMAS PARTY NIGHTS AT DUNDALK STADIUM MAIDEN (3yo+) Winner €7,092 14 runners 1m4f Standard RTV

Anyone who reads my previews will know that I was very sweet on the chances of HANNON, on his last run and he was very disappointing finishing down the field. He was entered up numerous times in good jump races and it looked like he was being primed for one of them. This could be another fitness based run ahead of the Christmas racing but I am more than happy to take a chance that he goes well here. This looks a weaker race than what he contended last time out and if he can translate any of his National Hunt form to the flat, he should be very hard to beat. Grandmaster Flash who won the race the last day has since gone on and run well at Chelmsford so that franks the form.

5.30 HANDICAP (3yo+ 45-75) Winner €6,797 14 runners 1m4f Standard RTV

Colin Keane will need to be at his majestic best to get THE MOUSE DOCTOR to get his head in front and it will need to be done at the latest possible time. This horse is dropping back in trip from 2 mile and it looks like it will suit. He is a pound higher than when 4th behind Rips Dream over course and distance and he was doing all his best work at the finish of the race. He then stepped up to the extended distance and looked to be very one paced when fourth behind the Joseph O’Brien trained Irradiate. That form again stands up as Grandmaster Flash who I mentioned in the previous race franked it by running well in Chelmsford. This horse looks a solid each way alternative in this race but it is extremely competitive and a small play is suggested.

6.00 WWW.DUNDALKSTADIUM.COM HANDICAP (DIV I) (3yo+ 45-65) Winner €5,910 14 runners 7f Standard RTV

DARK MAGIC has improved in his last two runs and it looks like his turn is very near. He has Colin Keane aboard for the third time in recent weeks and if he can find another bit of improvement he should go very close. He finished third on Onthehoureveryhour in first time cheekpieces off a mark of 50. His handicap mark remained the same when he finished second to Able Jack on Friday last when he was unlucky not to get up close home. The handicapper has left him on the same mark of 50 and that looks like he is taking a chance. NAP of the night for me.

6.30 WWW.DUNDALKSTADIUM.COM HANDICAP (DIV II) (3yo+ 45-65) Winner €5,910 14 runners 7f Standard RTV

If Dark Magic can frank the form in the previous race then ABLE JACK should be in with a chance with a mandatory 6lb penalty to win again after being successful on Friday night when he landed a nice touch for connections. Luke Mc Ateer claims 7lb here and that could swing it again in his favour. He is drawn 10 here and Luke will need to get him into a prominent position early and try and make all the running. This horse was successful of marks in the low 80s in the UK and he gets in here off 64 and that leaves him nicely handicapped here. Plenty of room for improvement.

7.00 CROWNE PLAZA RACE & STAY APPRENTICE RATED RACE (3yo+) Winner €7,092 14 runners 1m Standard RTV

Jessica Harrington has her team in flying form and CALLING TIME looks poised to strike after a run of consistent form in recent weeks. He was second in his last two runs, first when second behind Kafu off a mark of 77 and then second behind Lord Rapscallion on the 22nd November. He is on the same mark as his last run and seems to be in good form. He is nicely drawn in stall three and should get into a rhythm and adopt a handy position early. He will have to improve off this mark to get his head in front again but I can see him going very close here.

7.30 CHRISTMAS PARTY NIGHTS AT DUNDALK STADIUM RACE (PLUS 10 RACE) (2yo) Winner €8,865 8 runners 1m Standard RTV

This is one of the most competitive races on the night and the main question is whether the receipt of 5lb for KARBASANN from the two previous winners in the race will be enough to see him break his maiden.  Michael Halford will no doubt find a suitable race for this colt in time and this looks a prime opportunity. His last run was quite encouraging as he kept on well to finish second to Psyche and he didn’t look like he was stopping close home. In receipt of 5lb that should swing it in his favour. This horse should improve for a step up in trip in time and Ronan Whelan should be able to sit off the pace here and strike close home. Will be very hard to beat.

8.00 IRISHINJUREDJOCKEYS.COM HANDICAP (3yo+ 45-75) Winner €6,501 14 runners 2m Standard RTV

Andrew Oliver looks to have a great chance of a winner to end the night here as CACIQUE ROYAL looks sure to be competitive after two very solid runs recently. He has gone from a mark of 63 to 69 and the booking of Shane Foley looks highly significant. He steps up in trip here to two mile and that could be the unlocking of more improvement. This doesn’t look the strongest race on paper and it will be very disappointing should this horse not go very close. He is nicely berthed in stall two and he looks to be a very solid selection here.
