Tonight’s Players Championship Semi-finals predictions

Shane McArdle thinks Gary Anderson will be back with a bang to retain his UK Open title.

Players Championship Finals 2018 Sunday Preview

My Verdict:

After losing a bad-tempered Grand Slam of Darts final in Wolverhampton last weekend to Gerwyn Price, I fancy Gary Anderson to turn-up in top-form to take this title and make amends somewhat. Michael van Gerwen will be many people’s choice to defend his title, whilst Michael Smith, Peter Wright, Adrian Lewis, Dave Chisnall, James Wade and Simon Whitlock along with newly crowned Grand Slam champion Gerwyn Price are also all popular selections in the outright market. But it’s a win for The Flying Scotsman for me, with small each-way bets on James Wade and Michael Smith also recommended.

Here are the Sunday November 25th (Best of 21 Legs) semi-final match predictions:

  • (7pm) Daryl Gurney v Danny Noppert
  • Prediction – Daryl Gurney – “Superchin” was an impressive 10-2 winner over an in-form Chris Dobey in the quarter-finals today. He finished with a 103.91 average and makes the final four of this tournament for the first time since 2015. He is strongly fancied to get the win over his Dutch opponent and former BDO World Championship runner-up Danny Noppert in tonight’s opening semi-final.

  • (8pm) Gary Anderson v Michael van Gerwen
  • Prediction – Gary Anderson – “The Flying Scotsman” a former winner of this tournament was a very impressive 10-4 winner over Jonny Clayton in today’s quarter-finals, averaging a staggering 110.02 and faces the World Number One Michael van Gerwen in tonight’s eagerly awaited second semi-final. I fancied Gary Anderson right from the very start of this tournament and fancy him to dish out another beating to MVG as he did with a 16-12 semi-final win in the Grand Slam Of Darts last weekend in Wolverhampton.
