The 2018 World Series of Darts takes place Friday 2nd November to Sunday 4th November from Vienna, Austria.
We’ve had Six World Series events this year heading into this Finals weekend which has been moved from Glasgow, Scotland to Vienna.
The prize fund is £250,000, with a winner’s share of £50,000.
Michael van Gerwen is the three time defending Champion. This year’s Auckland Darts Masters winner is looking for a fourth successive win in the tournament.
Schedule of Play
Friday 2nd November (From 7pm) (First Round)
Raymond Smith v Keegan Brown Prediction – Keegan Brown
The former World Youth Champion is strongly fancied to take the win over his Australian opponent in this first-round match.
Maik Langendorf v Damon Heta Prediction – Maik Lagendorf
Not much to go on with these two players. However preference is for the German qualifier who should be good enough to take the win over his Australian rival.
Ian White v Kyle Anderson Prediction – Kyle Anderson
Ian White was very disappointing in last weekend’s European Championship in Dortmund and may be vulnerable to Kyle Anderson who is always a dangerous opponent and is fancied for the win in this match on current form.
Dave Chisnall v Dawson Murchell Prediction – Dave Chisnall
Chizzy was a big disappointment last weekend at the European Championships when losing comprehensively to Gerwyn Price but he is fancied to have too much for his young Canadian opponent in this first round match-up.
Jamie Lewis v Dimitri van der Bergh Prediction – Dimitri van der Bergh
The current PDC World Youth Champion is fancied to beat his Welsh rival who hasn’t shown the same level of form as he did around this time last year so it’s a win for The Dreammaker (van der Bergh) in this one for me.
Gerwyn Price v Royden Lam Prediction – Gerwyn Price
Gerwyn Price comes into this in great form having only lost narrowly (10-9) in the quarter-finals to eventual winner James Wade at last weekend’s European Championship in Germany and is strongly fancied to take the win.
Steve Beaton v Daryl Gurney Prediction – Daryl Gurney
Two players who will be feeling they haven’t been playing to their full potential of late and one will get a confidence boosting win in this and a chance to get a run going in this tournament. Daryl Gurney looks the most likely to do just that.
Ross Smith v James Wade Prediction Prediction – James Wade
Last weekend’s European Champion will be brimming with confidence coming into this tournament and should be too strong for his opponent in this first round tie.
Saturday 3rd November (From 7pm) (Second Round)
Michael Smith v Ian White/Kyle Anderson
Raymond van Barneveld v Raymond Smith/Keegan Brown
Gary Anderson v Dave Chisnall/Dawson Murschell
Peter Wright v Gerwyn Price/Royden Lam
Simon Whitlock v Steve Beaton/Daryl Gurney
Rob Cross v Jamie Lewis/Dimitri van den Bergh
Mensur Suljovic v Ross Smith/James Wade
Michael van Gerwen v Maik Lagendorf/Damon Heta
Sunday 4th November
