It’s midway through the season and the contenders and pretenders are being sorted out.
LA Rams – the best team thus far – take on Green Bay Packers and give a generous 9.5 points. QB Aaron Rodgers has shown he can keep his team in the game no matter the foe, and has had an off week to recover from a MCL strain.
I like the Rams over the Packers but I REALLY like the OVER total of 56 in this game – especially as the only flaw the Rams have shown this season is a regression in team defense.
Bears’ luck to change
NY Jets travel to Chicago this week to play the ‘bad beat’ Bears. Bears have been closely involved in every game and have lost some they should have won. Their luck evens out a little this week as the Jets will not be able to run the ball against this solid D and will force rookie QB Darnold to carry the team.
Look for the Bears to pick off a few of his passes for points and walk away by more than 7 points.
Keep faith with Patriots
Buffalo the team is nearly as extinct as buffalo the species at this moment. Every QB on the roster has been injured or found lacking. Current QB Anderson was out of the league playing catch with his children two weeks ago. To make matters worse the offensive line is in disarray.
The NE Patriots are not known for charity and will score early and often here and cover the 14-point spread.
Take it as Red
All three NY teams are suffering this week. The Giants have begun rebuilding early, trading two top defenders for picks next year. The best offensive stars are bickering and have lost faith in QB Manning in what is surely his final year in the NFL.
Look for an improving Washington Redskins team led by ageless wonder Adrian Peterson to walk over the Giants in a PICK’em game.
That’s four solid picks – consider combining two or more for a parlay this week. You can’t win if you don’t play!
