Everton v West Ham, Sun 16 September, 16:00

Everton are unbeaten following their opening four league games (one win and three draws), with seven goals scored and six conceded. Theo Walcott has started the new season well, with two league goals.

West Ham find themselves with no points from their first four games, suffering losses to Liverpool (4-0, Away), Bournemouth (1-2, Home), Arsenal (3-1, Away) and Wolves (0-1, Home). They have scored two goals and conceded ten, with striker Marko Arnautovic scoring both of their goals.

The Match

So far, Everton look like a team who are difficult to beat but also find it difficult to finish the opposition off to get the win. That said, manager Marco Silva has built a good squad which will improve as the season progresses.

Everton won the corresponding fixture 4-0 last season.

West Ham will be looking to improve from what they have produced so far for new manager Manuel Pellegrini, who has assembled a decent squad who should be doing better than what they’ve achieved to date.

West Ham will face Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham in their next five league games following this trip to Goodison Park, so will be looking to get something out of this match for sure.

The total Premier League head-to-head records between the sides are Everton (24 wins) 12 draws and West Ham (8 wins)

Team News

New signing Richarlison has got off to a good start with three goals, although he was sent-off for a clash of heads in the 2-2 away draw at Bournemouth back on Sept 25, that three-game suspension for the straight-red is a big blow for Everton as he misses this match. Seamus Coleman also misses out having withdrawn from the Rep Of Ireland squad midweek against Poland with a suspected broken foot.

West Ham

Jack Wilshere is out for West Ham after picking up an ankle injury in training, whilst striker Javier Hernandez is out with a virus and Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and Winston Reid remain long-term absentees.

Everton have scored two goals in three of their opening Premier League games, so Everton 2 goals in the Total Goals market @ 11/5 may represent some value.
